Following their promotion to the English Premier League, Leeds United are already making crucial additions to key areas in a bid to keep their top-flight status and fight for trophies, and as such, they have added experienced forward Lukas Nmecha to the ranks, joining the team from Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Lukas Nmecha joins on an initial two-year contrac,t which is set to take effect once his current deal with VfL Wolfsburg expires. The 26-year-old forward will officially link up with the Yorkshire club on July 1st, becoming Daniel Farke’s first confirmed signing of the summer transfer window.

Nmecha arrives after spending the past four seasons in the Bundesliga, bringing with him top-flight experience and added firepower to Leeds’ attacking options.

“It's just a great challenge and I'm really excited to get to know the team,” Nmecha said in an interview with LUTV.

“I've spoken with the manager many times, and I'm excited to play that style of football that they played in the Championship, even in the Premier League.

“I saw that there was dominance last season in terms of possession and the goals. I'm an attacking player, so obviously that's exciting for me.

“Of course, in the Premier League, there's some big boys in there where you can't play like that all the time, but I think the idea of the manager is to play good football, possession football, and that's what I'm used to and what I love doing.

“I wish we could get going now, but we still have a few weeks of pre-pre-season, getting the runs in and all that! But, I just can't wait to start training now", he concluded.

Lukas offers valuable versatility across the front line, capable of playing in multiple attacking roles. His arrival provides Leeds United with a boost of top-level experience at a crucial time, as the club gears up for its return to the Premier League.
