NPFL: Sunshine Stars GM Says Club Will Be Stronger Next Season

Published on: 10 July 2022

With two games left to end season, Tunde Ogunja, the General Manager of Sunshine Stars of Akure has hinted the team will be stronger next season, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Sunshine Stars of Akure are still in contention for the CAF Confederation Cup ticket and a win in Sunday's derby against Remo Stars in Akure alongside favourable results from other venues week will put them in a good position to snatch the remaining continental ticket via the league.

Under Deji Ayeni their former coach, Sunshine Stars began their 2021/22 NPFL campaign on a good note but nosedive at some points.

Their season got rejuvenated and the campaign for a good season continued with a couple of good runs.

The Akure gunners are 7th on the NPFL log with 51 points, 5 off the CAF Confederation Cup spot and with the dream of picking the continental ticket seemingly impossible, the GM have now turned his attention to the 2022/23 season.

"Sunshine Stars will be the team to beat next season when the process would have reached its zenith. We have been rebuilding gradually but we will come out with full force next season," Tunde Ogunja said.
