New Blackburn Rovers Boss Owen Coyle Eyeing Early Summer Recruits

"?Freshly-installed Blackburn Rovers manager Owen Coyle is eager to add early signings to strengthen his current squad of players before the start of the season.

Following Coyle's appointment last Thursday, the new Rovers boss has already begun his search for new players and is optimistic of the season ahead.

The competition in the Championship doesn't phase the former Wigan Athletic manager and he agrees that there is a lot of work ahead for his new team.

In an interview on "?RoverPlayersHD, Coyle said: "We don't have a registered striker at the club and there are other areas that I would like to improve on, so that is something I've already started on.

"It is important that we try and bring some good players to the club that can add to the very good players that we already have in the squad.

"We'll work with the funds that are made available to us and do our very best to get those players in that can excite the fans and try and put a team together.

"That will be key in terms of recruitment, to try and get the best players available for the funding we have and look to add to the squad we've got."

Recruiting the right type of players will be very crucial for Blackburn this summer and Coyle believes that rushing into completing deals will be no good for his side.

With the Euros around the corner, Coyle has accepted that his final squad may not be ready for the start of the season.

"Any manager would tell you that they would love to have their squad in for the first day of pre-season but that will never happen for a number of reasons," Coyle said.

"We've got a couple of players at the Euros for instance, so given the length of time that they are involved they'll probably need some rest as well.

"So all in all, we'll look to get those pieces that we can just now before pre-season starts and continually add to that so that come the first day of the season we are ready to start and have a squad that can go and compete in a very tough Championship environment.

"We'll be working our socks off to try and bring those players in that can help this team, have a good pre-season and put those bits in place that can help us over the course of the season," he concluded.
