Nigeria's defender Mujeeb Murana put in a good shift for his Miami FC, but it was not enough to avoid defeat in the USL Championship matchday 19, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Murana's Miami FC fell 2-3 at home to Rhodes Island FC at the FIU Stadium in a game the home side were down 3-0 for an hour of the game.

By 11 minutes, Frank Nodarse had put the visitors in front before Albert Dikwa doubled the lead at the stroke of half time.

Dikwa extended the lead with his brace, scoring just three minutes after the restart of the game.

13 minutes later, Frank Lopez pulled one back for the hosts to make it 1-3 after Murana's assist.

Murana raced down the right side before putting the cross to Lopez. Lopez took a quick turn and fired a shot across goal beating Rhode Island’s Ojeda to get Miami’s deficit to two goals.

The score became 2-3 on 78 minute after Miami sub Molina breathed life into the home squad as he fired a shot in the back of the net after taking a great ball from Allen Gavilanes.

However, the comeback was not to be as the game ended 2-3.
