Manchester United went in front against Tottenham in the 73rd minute of their English league sixth-round match at Old Trafford.
The game had been goalless at half-time, with Tottenham creating more attempts. The visitors had registered seven shots on goal, compared with one from Michael Carrick’s Manchester United side.
United broke the deadlock when Cunha played a short pass from the right into the penalty area. Mbeumo turned under pressure from a defender before guiding his shot into the far bottom corner.
Tottenham’s task became harder five minutes later when Rodrigo Bentancur was shown a straight red card. He was dismissed for headbutting Shaw in the face.
