Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca criticised his side’s defending despite their 5-3 victory over Sunderland in the fifth round of the English championship.
Maresca was particularly dissatisfied with the errors that allowed Sunderland to score three times, saying there had been “too many goals”.
The result means Manchester City remain the only team with a maximum points tally after five matches. They hold a three-point advantage over their nearest challengers.
