Manchester City crest at Etihad vandalised after financial misconduct ruling

Published on: 30 September 2026

A large Manchester City emblem outside the Etihad Stadium has been vandalised following the decision of an independent commission examining financial breaches by the club, according to The Sun.

An offensive message was written across the crest. The newspaper reported that some supporters used the graffiti to express their anger over the commission’s ruling.

Manchester City has rejected the commission’s findings and confirmed that it intends to appeal. The club has until 2 October to challenge the decision.

No punishment has yet been imposed. Any sanction will be determined at a separate hearing.
