Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has defended goalkeeper Manuel Neuer after his mistake helped Augsburg score in the opening seconds of their 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga.
Augsburg took the lead after only eight seconds of the fifth-round match, but Bayern Munich recovered to earn a point.
Kompany also declined to say who would start in goal for Bayern Munich in Tuesday’s Champions League match against Norwegian club Viking.
Bayern Munich are second in the Bundesliga with 11 points. Borussia Dortmund lead the table with 13 points, while Freiburg have 10 points and a game in hand.
