Cardiff City head coach Omer Riza has given an update on the future of Nigerian defender Jamilu Collins, admitting the possibility of his departure amidst a turbulent spell in Wales, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Despite the January transfer window closing, Jamilu Collins' potential departure from Cardiff City remains unresolved, though a settlement is still a possibility.
Cardiff City considers Collins surplus to requirements and had hoped to facilitate a transfer during January. While that didn't materialize, the manager had expressed optimism that opportunities might arise in other transfer windows still open globally.
"Not at the moment," Riza said when asked if there was any further interest in the left back as per WalesOnline.
"If every window closes around the world, he will either look to stay or some sort of agreement will be made."
However, Riza believes a transfer is unlikely right now, raising the prospect of a mutual agreement to terminate Collins' contract before the season's end.
