Italian giants Juventus will swoop to sign the Augsburg ace Baba Abdul-Rahman for a fee in the region of £15m.

According to reports in the Italian newspaper Tuttosport the Serie A champions are keen on spend to outfox their rivals Roma for the signature of the Ghana international.

Having signed Sami Khedira, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic - Juventus are in the market for more defensive additions.

And may use their impending £28m Arturo Vidal windfall to conclude a deal to boost their left-back options even though they have Ghana's Kwadwo Asamoah and Patrice Evra.

Asamoah is likely to be deployed in the playmaker role following the deaparture of Andrea Pirlo and the exit of Tevez.

The Premier League duo of Arsenal and Chelsea had previously been tipped to bring Rahman to England, but it looks increasingly likely Italy will be his next destination.

Rahman, 20, is described as an exciting left-back famed for his pace, attacking prowess and defensive positioning.

Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso spoke highly of the coveted youngster having faced him in the Bundesliga last term.
