Real Madrid and Barcelona have identified Brighton & Hove Albion defender Luka Vuskovic as a potential long-term transfer target, with Liverpool also monitoring the Croatia international.
The 19-year-old joined Brighton from Tottenham for £50M in July after impressing during a loan spell at Hamburg. Just three months into his time at the AMEX Stadium, Vuskovic is already attracting interest from some of Europe’s leading clubs.
Reports from TEAMtalk say Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are “seriously interested” in the teenager. Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also believed to be on the fringes of the race, although Chelsea decided against making a summer offer.
Liverpool are understood to be considering Vuskovic as part of their long-term succession planning for club captain Virgil van Dijk. Real Madrid and Barcelona are likewise assessing their future defensive options.
Brighton have also been planning for life beyond Lewis Dunk, and Vuskovic’s strong start has strengthened his position within those plans.
The defender is under contract until 2031, with Brighton holding an option to extend the agreement by a further 12 months. His revised transfer value is now estimated at around £65M, leaving the club in a strong negotiating position should one of his suitors make a formal approach.
