Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has been suspended by Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars amid allegations of match-fixing, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The development was disclosed by Tanzanian journalist Samir Sylva, who stated that the club imposed disciplinary sanctions on two players following internal investigations into alleged misconduct.
Obasogie has been handed a three-month suspension over claims linked to match manipulation. In the same announcement, Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho was also suspended for three months for misconduct reportedly involving dereliction of duty and absenteeism.
Although Singida Black Stars have yet to release a comprehensive public statement detailing the allegations against the Nigerian goalkeeper, sources suggest the action is part of the club’s commitment to enforcing discipline and safeguarding the integrity of the team.
Obasogie, who has previously been in contention for national team selection with Nigeria, now faces uncertainty over his immediate future as further investigations into the matter continue.
