Juventus defender Federico Gatti will remain with the Turin club after a proposed move during the summer transfer window failed to materialise, despite interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Serie A side Napoli.
The information was reported on social media by transfer insider Ekrem Konur, who said the 28-year-old Italy international had been linked with a switch away from Juventus.
Gatti was reportedly attracting attention from clubs in the Saudi Arabian league, although no agreement was reached and the defender stayed in Turin. Napoli were also said to be monitoring the player, but their interest did not result in a transfer either.
The outcome means Gatti will continue his career with Juventus, where he has played since January 2022. He joined the club during that month and has remained part of the first-team squad since then.
Gatti’s current contract with Juventus runs until the end of June 2030. The length of that agreement gives the club a long-term commitment from the defender, while also ensuring that he remains tied to the Serie A side after the latest transfer interest did not lead to a departure.
Transfermarkt currently estimates Gatti’s market value at €14m.
The defender’s continued presence follows a summer in which his future was the subject of speculation. Interest from Saudi Arabian clubs and Napoli created the possibility of a move, but Gatti ultimately remained with Juventus and no transfer was completed.
His stay also preserves his association with the Turin club, which he joined in January 2022. With his contract extending through June 2030, Juventus retain the player for the foreseeable future after deciding, or being able, to keep him despite approaches from elsewhere.
Gatti is 28 and is described as an Italian footballer in the report. His market valuation of €14m, as assessed by Transfermarkt experts, provides an indication of his standing in the transfer market, although the reported interest from Saudi Arabia and Napoli did not produce an offer or agreement that took him away from Juventus.
For now, the defender remains registered with the “Bianconeri”, with his existing agreement continuing until 2030. The summer window therefore closed without a change of club for Gatti, despite the attention he received from outside Turin.
