Herve Renard names first Cote d’Ivoire squad since return as head coach

Herve Renard has announced his first Cote d’Ivoire squad since returning to lead the national team, selecting 24 players for the Elephants’ upcoming fixtures.

The French coach previously guided Cote d’Ivoire to glory at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) and is now preparing the team for the start of the CAN 2027 qualifying campaign.

Goalkeepers Fofana Yahia, Lafont Alban and Kone Mohamed have been selected.

The defensive options are Doue Guela, Ouattara Kassoum, Ndicka Evann, Diomande Ousmane, Agbadou Emmanuel, Kossounou Odilon, Tape Christ and Konan Ghislain.

Renard’s midfielders are Sangare Ibrahim, Kessie Franck, Inao Christ, Zabi Patrick, Kone Amadou and Doue Eddy.

The attacking players named in the squad are Diomande Yann, Pepe Nicolas, Toure Bazoumana, Bonny Yoan, Wahi Elie, Gboho Yann and Fofana Ryan.

Cote d’Ivoire will begin their CAN 2027 qualifying campaign against Ghana on 24 September at 19h00 at the Stade de la Paix de Bouake.

The Elephants will then face Somalia on 29 September at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny before meeting Cameroon in a friendly on 3 October at Ebimpe.
