Barcelona return to LaLiga action against Alaves on October 31st with Xavi Espart facing around two months out and Jules Kounde among the defenders unavailable.
Espart was carried off during last weekend’s defeat by Real Madrid, which ended Barcelona’s 100% start to the 2026/27 league season. The midfielder has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain.
Hansi Flick’s defending champions will be aiming to respond against an Alaves side that has failed to win any of its last six games.
Barcelona face a demanding schedule before the November international break, with matches against Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid to follow their meeting with Alaves.
Kounde remains out alongside Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen. Flick has also acknowledged that Alejandro Balde is short of confidence, but the defender could nevertheless be included in the starting XI.
Barcelona’s confirmed line-up is: J. Garcia; Cancelo, Cubarsi, Martin, Balde; Rodri, Pedri, De Jong; Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Gordon.
The match at Estadio Camp Nou is scheduled to kick off at 9pm local time, which is 8pm in the UK.
Barcelona have avoided defeat in their last eight consecutive home league games against Alaves. However, Lamine Yamal is the only player in the current matchday squad to have scored against them on home soil.
