Rio Ngumoha: Liverpool winger linked with move to Bayern

Published on: 06 November 2026

Rio Ngumoha, the 18-year-old English-Nigerian winger at Liverpool, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga club FC Bayern.

Ngumoha has made seven Premier League appearances this season and featured in all four of Liverpool’s Champions League matches, providing two assists in the European competition. He has also played twice in the EFL Cup.

The left winger joined Liverpool’s academy from Chelsea Youth in September 2024 in a deal worth €3.2m before moving into Liverpool’s senior squad in July 2025. He has since established himself as part of the club’s first-team group, although only 11% of his Premier League appearances this season have come as starts.

The reported interest comes with Ngumoha’s current market value listed at €50m. He is under contract at Liverpool until 30 June 2028, meaning the club is not facing an immediate risk of losing him on a free transfer.

Ngumoha was born in London and can represent both England and Nigeria. He has not featured for England at the 2026 World Cup, according to his current season record, while his club form has been split between domestic and European football.

There is no indication that a transfer has been agreed, with the Bayern link remaining a rumour. Ngumoha’s immediate contractual position remains unchanged, with more than 18 months left on his Liverpool deal.
