Edo Queens’ successful run at the 2026 CAF WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers ended with more silverware as Atume Doosuur Anastasia and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi claimed the tournament’s top individual awards, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Atume was named the competition’s top scorer after finishing with six goals, while 16-year-old Adegbuyi was crowned Best Player of the Tournament following a standout campaign that further underlined her rapid rise in Nigerian women’s football.
Atume played a key role in Edo Queens’ march to the WAFU B title, opening her campaign with a brace against AS GNN before scoring the winning goal against Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa in the group stage.
The forward maintained her form in the knockout rounds, scoring in the semi-final with a 17th-minute strike before also getting on the scoresheet against USFA as the Nigerian champions continued their push for the title.
Her Golden Boot adds to an impressive 2026 for Atume, who also finished as joint top scorer in the NWFL Premiership alongside Abiasiofon Uwah.
While Atume provided the goals, Adegbuyi emerged as the tournament’s standout performer, adding another major individual award to what has been a breakthrough year for the teenager.
The 16-year-old was previously named Best Player of the 2026 NWFL Premiership after an impressive season with FC Robo, where she also scored three goals during the NWFL Super Six.
Adegbuyi has also made her mark at international level, featuring for Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, and contributing to their successful qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Her move to Edo Queens brought another immediate highlight, with the teenager scoring on her debut before earning Player of the Match honours against ASE Mimosas during the WAFU B qualifiers.
Her consistent performances throughout the tournament ultimately earned her the Best Player award, completing a remarkable individual campaign.
The recognition for Atume and Adegbuyi further highlights the quality within the Edo Queens squad, with the duo’s individual contributions proving crucial as the Nigerian champions secured the WAFU B title and booked their place in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
