Rivers United earned a point courtesy of a late goal from Handsome Surveyor against Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League match day 19 clash on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Vincent Temitope had put the visitors ahead, but Surveyor scored 6 minutes into added time to steal a point for the Pride of Rivers and avoid defeat at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The first half ended without a goal following the cancellation of Vincent Temitope's goal after a foul throw was spotted in the build-up.
Temitope in the 51st minute scored, and this time it stood as the Peace Boys looked poised to take maximum points away from Port Harcourt.
Coach George Finidi was sent off in the 80th minute for dissent. Still, it didn't stop Rivers United from getting the equalizer 6th minutes into the 10 minutes of additional time after Surveyor scored from close range.
Plateau United head coach Mbwas Mangut was sent off by the referee for dissent, this was after play was paused due to complaints from the bench of the away team after the equaliser by Rivers Utd.
The encounter ended 1-1 at the sound of the final whistle as the two sides shared the spoils.
