Governor Ademola Adeleke, His Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, Speaker Osun State House Of Assembly Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Chief Executive Officer of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd, Engr. Lanre Adeleke are among the dignitaries expected to grace the final match of the first edition of Osun School Sports Governors Cup.
The football Competition for secondary schools students across the state will get to its climax on Monday, March 11, when Ataoja School Of Science, Osogbo faces Lanre Leke Sports Academy, Ile-Ogbo at the Osogbo City Stadium, starting from 10 am in the morning.
Also expected to grace the event are Royal Fathers in the State , which includes, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi, Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude (Tegbosun III) and the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, Oba Habeeb Adetoyese Agbajelola.
Others includes the Committee of Sports, Osun House of Assembly, led by the Chairman Hon. Jeremiah Awoyeye, House Committee on Education, led by Hon. Oderinwale Elisha, also, all high ranking officers in the ministry of Education and Sports, the Commissioner of Police, All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Public Schools (ANCOPPS), Osun Chapter and many more.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of School Sports Foundation, Yomi Elijah thanked everyone that has given support to the initiative and also promised the Competition will get bigger and better in the next edition.
"We at School Sports Foundation are grateful to the Osun State Government, the Sponsor, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd, ministry of Education, Sports and everyone that made this year's edition a huge success.
"We hope to have a bigger competition next year, this year's event has a been a success so far and possibly we can have more schools taking part and more games and more innovations." He concluded.
Also speaking on the final, Top executive of School Sports Foundation, organisers of the Governor's Cup and CEO of Olafiranye Sports Foundation, one of the partners of the prestigious competition, Alhaji Olayiwola Olafiranye assured football lovers that the players of Ataoja School Of Science and Lanreleke Sports Academy are ready to thrill them with good football, even as he commended all the various teams for their discipline throughout the tournament.
"We are optimistic that we are going to have a wonderful final game, everyone has been impressed with the level of talents discovered so far. We really hope to harness these talents and make their dreams a reality.
The final game on Monday is scheduled to kick off of by 10am in the morning at the Osogbo City Stadium.
