Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is likely to choose jersey no.35 at his new club Shanghai SIPG.
The 29-year-old is forced to forgo his usual jersey no.3 as it is already being used by an existing player at his new Chinese club.
Gyan completed a mega move to Shanghai SIPG which will see his already staggering earnings rise to the region of $300,000 per week.
The former Sunderland man is however unable to don his favourite no.3 jersey at his new club as it is being used by Korean defender Kim Ju-Young.
Gyan’s alternative no.33 is also occupied by Yang Boyu – forcing the Black Stars captain to pick a number outside his preferred choices.
Sources close to the new Shanghai SIPG signing have told GHANAsoccernet.com that Gyan is considering using the no.35 jersey in the interim.
The ex Al Ain ace could be presented with an opportunity to revert to his favourite no.3 jersey at the end of the current campaign.
