FA Cup: "All our footings were very wrong" - Bethel Orji laments loss

Abia Warriors Coach, Bethel Orji has lamented his side's poor play in their 2-0 loss at the President Federation Cup final on Saturday against El Kanemi Warriors in Lagos, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League side won courtesy of a brace by Salihu in the final played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

The Umuahia side had looked favourite prior to the game, but it was a different ball game on the D-Day as Orji stated that his boys failed to come to the party.

"Well you know today's game is the game of the warriors and a warrior must emerge. We are very unfortunate today that things didn't go out way especially in the first half. All our footings were very wrong, our positioning, our ball possession was very wrong and we paid dearly for it.", the ex-international said.

El Kanemi Warriors emerged champions of the competition for the third time, their first title in 32 years and secured a ticket to 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup.
