Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has strongly hinted that Deportivo de La Coruña netmider Francis Uzoho will be on the plane to Russia this summer and has praised the youngster once again for his performance in the 4-2 win vs Argentina in November.
The Super Eagles technical crew and Nigerian Federation need to solve their goalkeeping crisis five months before their first game in the World Cup, with Woves star Carl Ikeme inactive and Vincent Enyeama who has appeared in multiple World Cups calling time on his national team career.
With no credible option available, Rohr might be relying on Uzoho for the World Cup and he has been provided with a trainer.
''We have had problems in the past and have solved it. There would also be answers as we progress. Unfortunately, Carl Ikeme had health issues and Vincent Enyeama quit the national team,'' Rohr said.
''We had Ikechukwu Ezenwa who has not done badly. He was great in the WAFU Cup. There has also been the coming of Francis Ozoho in Deportivo de La Coruña .
''He was exciting in the friendly against Argentina and we have sent a trainer to be working with him in Spain.''
Francis Uzoho has posted eight shutouts in twelve matches for Deportivo de La Coruña's teams this season, while conceding 7 goals.
