Olympique Lyonnais is facing a financial crisis that could force them to sell off key players in a fire sale this January transfer window. The French club has been provisionally relegated to Ligue 2 by the DNCG (Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion) due to severe financial mismanagement.

To avoid the devastating consequences of relegation, Lyon will be compelled to significantly reduce their wage bill and generate substantial income. This means a mass exodus of star players is highly likely with Orban one of the players to be sacrificed, as the club will be forced to part ways with some of its most valuable assets to stay afloat.

L’Équipe reports that Olympique Lyonnais is exploring the possibility of selling Gift Orban, Wilfried Zaha, Said Benrahma, Ernest Nuamah, Maxence Caqueret, and potentially even Sael Kumbedi. Given their current market value, these players could generate significant revenue for the financially troubled club.
