Ghana international David Atanga assisted a goal for Red Bull Salzburg as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat in the Austrian Bundesliga opening game on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year-old midfield talent set up Naby Keita in the 83rd minute as the Guinean international brilliantly pecked the scoring for visitors after newly-promoted side.

Atanga started the game and played full throttle and Red Bull coach Peter Zeidler grew his confidence in the Ghana U20 star.

While he impressed in the game, German-born Ghanaian midfielder Reinhold Yabo was not in the Salzburg squad for the game.
