Championship: Okoye, Ekong misses out as Watford earned valuable point at Birmingham

Super Eagles duo of Maduka Okoye and William Troost-Ekong were on the bench for the entire duration as Watford maintained their unbeaten start in the championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

William Troost-Ekong was a key member of the team who got relegated from the topflight league last season but has found it difficult breaking into the starting eleven this season.

Maduka Okoye on the other hand joined Watford from Sparta Rotterdam in January although was immediately loaned back to Netherlands.

Rey Manaj’s first goal in Watford colours earned them a share of the spoils under the lights against Birmingham City, as a 1-1 draw at St Andrew’s extended the Hornets’ unbeaten start to the Sky Bet Championship season.

With Watford set to visit Preston North End on Saturday, it is left to be seen if the Nigerians will make the starting lineup or remain on the bench yet again.
