Borussia Monchengladbach have dismissed Eugen Polanski, making him the first managerial departure of the 2026-27 Bundesliga season.
The decision was announced one day after Borussia Monchengladbach were beaten 5-0 away by Freiburg. The result left the club at the bottom of the Bundesliga table with no points.
Polanski became Borussia Monchengladbach head coach in November last year. Before taking the role permanently, he had served as the club’s caretaker manager.
The 40-year-old previously coached Borussia Monchengladbach’s youth and academy teams.
Borussia Monchengladbach’s next match is at home against Mainz on 19 September.
