Bologna agree plans for €300m, 35,000-capacity stadium

Bologna have reached an agreement with BolognaFiere to build a new 35,000-seat stadium, with the venue scheduled to be completed in spring 2031, according to Il Resto del Carlino.

The club hope to move into the new arena at the beginning of the 2031-32 season. The project is expected to cost approximately €300m.

The stadium is planned as a multi-purpose venue rather than a football ground alone. It will include a retractable roof and a movable playing surface, allowing it to host concerts, exhibitions and other large-scale events alongside Bologna matches.

Bologna is also among 13 cities included by the Italian Football Federation as potential hosts for matches at Euro 2032.

UEFA will assess the bids submitted by the candidate cities before selecting the five stadiums considered most suitable for the tournament.
