Osimhen Targets Barcelona Clash as Galatasaray Step Up Recovery Efforts

Galatasaray are working to ensure Victor Osimhen is fit in time for next Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League home clash against Barcelona, with the Nigerian striker equally determined to return for the high-profile encounter.

According to Turkish newspaper Milliyet, Osimhen has returned to Istanbul after completing his treatment and resumed individual training at the club’s Florya Metin Oktay Facilities.

The forward has been combining indoor training sessions with physical conditioning at Galatasaray’s facilities in Kemerburgaz and Florya as he works towards regaining full fitness.

His commitment to the recovery process has reportedly impressed the club’s technical staff, with the 27-year-old making the Barcelona fixture his primary target for a return to action.

Osimhen is said to be eager to feature against the Spanish giants, although his availability will depend on his progress during the remaining days before the match.

The striker was absent from Nigeria’s opening two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, missing the 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo and the subsequent 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau away from home.

His potential return would provide a major boost for Galatasaray as they prepare for one of their biggest European fixtures of the season.
