Bayern Munich Name Götze in Their Champions League Squad But Not the One You Think

Bayern Munich youngster Felix Götze, who is the younger brother of Germany international Mario Götze, has been named as a surprise selection to Bayern Munich's Champions League squad this season.

The 18-year-old, "?who was signed by Bayern from rivals Dortmund in 2014, was one of eight players called up from Bayern's B team by new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

While his older brother returned to Dortmund earlier this summer on a four-year deal, Felix has decided to stay put, continuing his development as one of Germany's most promising young central defenders.

Since signing for the Bavarian outfit as a 16-year-old in 2014, Götze has played for the B-team, who play in the A-Juniors Bundesliga.

He appeared 21 times last season and was regularly seen training with the Bayern first-team under departing manager Pep Guardiola.

?I don't play by the rules
And if you said that I'm not trying
I'm trying to find my Way?

The youngster was also present for Bayern's pre-season tour, which saw them play against Premier League opposition in the form of Manchester City.

Götze will wear the number 20 shirt and will be allowed to play in Bayern's Champions League Group ties against FC Rostov, PSV Eindhoven and last season's finalists Atletico Madrid.

Due to new rules set by UEFA, clubs will be allowed to select young players (born after January 1st, 1995) in their upcoming squads, as well as 25 senior players.

Following the international break, Bayern will look to extend their 100 per cent Bundesliga record as they travel to rivals Schalke 04 on Friday, September 9th.

Götze could get his first taste of European action four days later, as Carlo Ancelotti's side welcome the visit of FC Rostov in the Champions League.
