Atalanta B.C. announce the signing of footballer Giuseppe Pezzella from Parma on loan with an option and the obligation to make the deal permanent under certain conditions.
Born in Naples on the 29th of November 1997, he is a left-footed left wingback who can already count 90 appearances in Serie A at the age of 23. He was also among the great protagonists of Italy U20s at the 2017 World Cup in South Korea.
After growing up in a football school in Pozzuoli, Monteruscello Calcio, at the age of 15 he moved to Palermo with whom he completed his career in the Youth Sector and even made his debut in Serie A when he had just turned 18, on 6 December 2015 in Bergamo, in the match won 3-0 by Atalanta, featuring as a substitute in the last twenty-five minutes of the game. Then he moved to Udinese and Genoa and finally joined Parma in 2019, with whom he played the last two seasons. In the last campaign, in addition to 4 assists, in April he also scored his first goal as a professional player in the 4-3 away loss to Cagliari.
His experience in the Azzurri shirt with the various junior teams was also significant: second place at the U19 European Championships in 2016 with 4 appearances, third place at the U20 World Cup in 2017 with 6 appearances and an assist in the round of 16 against France, then 14 appearances with U21s, one of which was in the final stage of the 2019 European Championships.
