ASKO de Kara lead AS Zam 1-0 at half-time in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie on Sunday.
The Kondonas made a fast start, with Selyane Raib opening the scoring in the second minute. ASKO controlled much of the first half after taking the lead and created several clear opportunities, but were unable to extend their advantage.
AS Zam were repeatedly put under pressure by the Togolese side’s attacking play, yet managed to remain within reach of their opponents at the interval. ASKO will need to be more clinical after the break if they are to add to the score.
The club from Kara had already taken a major step towards qualification in the first leg, securing a 5-0 away victory. Their latest lead leaves ASKO de Kara in a strong position to progress to the next round.
