The Super Eagles of Nigeria have had their first and second training ahead of their quarter-final clash against Algeria despite news of a bonus payment row, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports. The team trained on Wednesday evening after news that players and coaching staff are facing another bonus payment crisis at the ongoing African Nations Cup in Morocco.
As reported by renowned Nigerian journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, Nigeria’s national team has once again been dragged into a bonus payment stalemate.
Win bonuses from four matches — Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Mozambique- remain unpaid.
While the squad is maintaining focus on the tournament, sources say they will not travel to Marrakech on Thursday should the issue persist.
It was recalled that about a month ago, the team was engulfed in another bonus payment row during their World Cup Playoff.
