West Ham Announce the Signing of 'Prolific Striker' Ashley Fletcher From Man Utd

West Ham have announced the signing of Ashley Fletcher from Manchester United via the official  club website.


Fletcher, who is regarded as 'prolific' by the London outfit, has joined on a four-year deal, becoming the club's fourth signing of the summer, following the acquisitions of Havard Nordtveit, Sofiane Feghouli, and Gokhan Tore.


The 20-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Barnsley, and scored the opening goal of their League one play-off final victory over Millwall. He underwent a successful medical at Spire Roding Hospital, prior to agreeing terms with the Hammers.


"I am very excited to be here," he said to the club's website.


 "West Ham are a massive club and I am just happy that I can come and further my development here at West Ham.


"I think it is a Club with a lot of ambition. They have a lot of good players and it was a special final season. They managed to finish the campaign very well.


"West Ham are a Club built on traditions of giving youngsters a run and hopefully I can get my chance as well."?

A statement on the  United website read: "Everyone at Manchester United would like to wish Ashley the best of luck in his future career."


Also leaving the club, are youngsters Joe Rothwell and Tyler Reid, who have joined Oxford United and Swansea City respectively.
