'Welcome to Hell': German Side St Pauli Reveal Intimidating New Tunnel Design

Published on: 22 July 2016

"?German Bundesliga 2 side St Pauli have gathered a bigger reputation than their relatively lowly league status would suggest over the last few years, thanks largely to their politically active fanbase and socialist-leanings.

The club's active stance against racism, sexism and homophobia have made them a popular 'second team' for a number of fans both inside and outside of Germany - while their skull and crossbones logo hints at just the barest bit of intimidation directed at their opponents. Kind of like their new tunnel design...

Wow. St. Pauli's new tunnel is pretty damn amazing. #fcsp pic.twitter.com/pkTKWJIeHd

As of next season, teams visiting the Millerntor Stadium will be faced with a design which some have described as looking like a scene from a horror film - although it's also startlingly reminiscent of a handful of Camden pub toilets.

It's hard to tell which is a scarier prospect, frankly.
