Watford Midfielder Mario Suarez Moves to Valencia on Season-Long Loan

"?Watford midfielder Mario Suarez has completed a loan move to Valencia, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday night.

The 29-year-old did not feature in the Hornets' opening day draw against Southampton amid rumours he was set to return to Spain, appearing to be surplus to Walter Mazzarri's requirements.

Suarez failed to establish himself in the Premier League after joining Watford from Fiorentina in January, despite making 16 appearances, albeit eight of them from the bench.

Valencia coach Pako Ayestran had previously admitted interest in the midfielder, who was an Atletico Madrid player for five years, helping them reach the Champions League final in 2014.

Mazzarri said regarding his decision to leave Suarez out of his squad at the weekend: "I made the best choices from what I've seen lately from the team," making a departure seem inevitable for the 27-year-old.

"Unfortunately you can take only 18 players. If I change ideas in the future for me it's no problem to change the formation or players."

Suarez said this recently about his decision to move to Watford: "Paulo Sousa did not count on me in Florence," said Suarez. "I chose Fiorentina to conquer a place for the Euros, but things did not go as I hoped.

"I was transferred to Watford as early as January, reaching only the best physical condition at the end of the season. I have experienced so many changes lately and last year was a big loss for my career.

"Now I want to recover, to return to feel good. Only if I'm 100% I can show my worth."
