Valencia Issue Warning to Arsenal That Shkodran Mustafi Won't Be Sold Unless Asking Price Is Met

Shkodran Mustafi has returned to training for Valencia amid reports of a summer move to Arsenal.

The German has long been a Gunners' target, and he seems set to join them before the close of the window. Valencia, however, have told Arsenal that they won't let him go if his valuation of €30m isn't met, according to "?Inside Futbol.

It is believed that the deal is only being held up because the two sides cannot agree on the fee, with Arsenal said to be keen on saving funds to buy a striker.

Things may become even more difficult, as Liverpool - also interested in signing the 24-year-old central defender - have reportedly opened talks with the La Liga side.

Despite the ongoing discussions, Mustafi has returned to training with his team and could be named in the squad to face Las Palmas on Monday night. He was nursing a minor injury, and had been training away from the rest of the squad as a result.

Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is insisting that the Gunners are ready to spend the money they have in order to land targets. The Frenchman refused to be drawn into discussions over specific players, but assured fans that money would be spent the right way.

"I believe it's better if I don't talk about individual players, but we are ready to spend the money we have," Wenger told a press conference.

"It is very difficult to identify people and you have many examples of people in England who spend huge money on CBs and not made it.

"It's important to spend money the right way - it's not my money."
