Tottenham Reject £10m Schalke Bid for First-Team Outcast Nabil Bentaleb

"?Tottenham Hotspur have rejected an offer of £10m from Schalke for midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, according to "?The Mirror.

The Algerian has been told to find a new club by manager Mauricio Pochettino after falling down the pecking order at White Hart Lane. The 21-year-old does not feature in the coach's plans and has been training away from the first-team as he looks to secure a move away.

Schalke are seeking midfield reinforcements after the Bundesliga side lost Leroy Sane to Manchester City and were unable to make Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's loan-deal permanent, with the talented youngster moving to Southampton.

The £10m bid has fallen some way short of Spurs' £15m valuation of Bentaleb, who broke through the ranks and impressed for a spell while Tim Sherwood was in charge back in 2013. He also started under Pochettino during the 2014-15 campaign but fell from grace because of injury and a supposed lack of discipline.

"It is important that all players want to be part of the team and play for the team,"? Pochettino said during his press conference ahead of Spurs' 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. "The discipline and the realisation are very important for success. It is very important to show respect for everyone at the club."?

"The rule is very clear: if you are not part of my plans, why are you training with us? He understands very well, like any other player. It is not a big issue, not a problem. Sometimes it looks like a big, big issue but it is very normal in football."?
