Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has steered away from comparisons linking his style of play to Claude Makelele's, insisting that he will play 'his way'.
The 25-year old signed for Antonio Conte's side for a £30m fee at the start of summer, leading many to compare his style of play with a number of French, ex-Chelsea midfielders including Didier Deschamps and Emmanuel Petit.
"There have been a lot of French midfielders at Chelsea, but they did it their way and I do it my way and I hope I can do good things at Chelsea," Kante told "?The Sun.
"I saw Claude Makelele play in the French national team but before when he played at a club I didn't watch him a lot. I can't be the same as another player. I am just my way and I will try to improve on that at Chelsea."?"?
Kante did admit to wanting to improve his language skills however, after claiming that his English language skills were 'rusty' after just one year in the Premier League.

"I am someone a little quiet. Maybe at the beginning, but after when I know more people I am more confident.
"Some players here speak French and this makes me more confident and is good for the integration into the group and this is good, but also I need to speak English to help the rest of the team.
"My English is improving because I learnt it in one year at Leicester, before it was just in school and on holiday, but I have to learn more, I don't understand it all."?
Kante came off the bench in Chelsea's 3-1 win over AC Milan, returning to the squad following his Euro 2016 final heartbreak.
