"?Marco Verratti has admitted that his Paris Saint-Germain teammate could head to Juventus as the perfect replacement for £89m man Paul Pogba, who returned to Manchester United as part of a world record transfer.
"?Reported on La Gazzetta dello Sport, the industrious Italian midfielder believes his fellow Parisian would suit the Italian champions playing style should he complete the move across the continent.
Verratti feels that Juventus have not been weakened by Pogba's departure, believing that the club have reinvested cleverly in a bid to maintain their position as Italy's top team.
""Pogba is one of the three or four best midfielders in the world, but no club can say no... Manchester United's offer was too good to turn down for anyone, but Juve reinvested wisely in Higuain and Pjanic, who have a great future ahead of them."
Should Matuidi, who has been identified as a key transfer target by the Italians, complete the move to Turin, Juventus would be significantly strengthening ahead of the new campaign.
Still more money for Mino Raiola to make this month. Juventus moving for Blaise Matuidi - another one of his players - to replace Paul Pogba
"Juve have reinforced more than anyone, as in every area they brought in the likes of Medhi Benatia, Pjanic and Higuain. They were already strong, now even more so, but in football nothing can be taken for granted, even if they are favourites."
Speaking specifically about Matuidi, the Italian was complimentary about what the Frenchman can bring to a side, after seeing first hand what he can do in the four years they have spent together at the heart of Paris Saint-Germain's midfield.
"He could be the right man for the job. He's a world class midfielder who puts his heart into the game, is very strong physically, intelligent and always pushing forward."
