Manchester United are preparing to usurp their competition in the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa by launching a £30m bid to sign the player, according to the "?Sun.
It was "?reported on Monday that Italian giants Inter Milan had pulled ahead of the likes of United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester City in the hunt for the Santos star, though the Red Devils have responded with the bumper offer in hope they can convince him to move to Old Trafford. It's been reported previously that the player prefers a move to England ahead of anywhere else.
Barbosa has been tracked by a number of Europe's biggest clubs for a number months - with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid all believed to be monitoring the player too - though the latest report boldly claims that United could even have the deal wrapped up within 48 hours.
United are looking at bringing in striking back up to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and while Marcus Rashford is on their books too, Jose Mourinho is keen not to miss out on one of world football's brightest young talents.
19-year-old Barbosa has lit up the Olympic football tournament in his homeland over the last few weeks, and interest has grown since then as his displays his skills on the world stage, alongside the likes of Neymar and new Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.
The Red Devils have reportedly agreed to pay Santos £26m plus £4m commission to his agent in order to get the deal over the line.
