Manchester City Said to Agree Terms With Schalke for Leroy Sane

"?Manchester City have agreed terms with Schalke starlet Leroy Sane, with the two clubs still yet to agree a fee for the Germany international.

Sane provided eight goals and six assists for the Bundesliga side as they finished fifth last season and the 20-year-old has been rated as one of Europe's top youngsters since making his big breakthrough in 2014.

He made 23 starts in the Bundesliga last season, but the club will not want to lose a player of his calibre unless they receive a big money offer.

According to German newspaper Bild and reported by the "?Daily Mail, City are prepared to offer Schalke €55m for their prized starlet, with sporting director Christian Heidel tempted to sell the winger if he receives bids of at least €50m.

If the club were to resist City's offer for the player and keep a hold of him for another year, Sane would be able to leave for the pre-negotiated sum of €37m, which is the release clause in his contract.

The attacker has had two spells in Schalke's youth team, with a stint at Bayer Leverkusen in-between, but Sane is reported to have told friends he is ready to ditch the club and link up with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

He's currently in Los Angeles on holiday after playing a minimal part in Germany's Euro 2016 campaign, but his future is set to remain up in the air until any formal bid is made.

Sane has made 57 appearances for Schalke, scoring 13 goals in the process.
