Liverpool To Announce Their Next Signing Imminently

Published on: 17 July 2016

Lets face it, this has been a pretty decent transfer season for Liverpool till now. And they continue to make themselves stronger."?

The Reds are now pretty much in the driving seat to seal the move for the Estonian national team captain, Ragnar Klavan.

The transfer fee is believed to be £4.2 million. The player would be acting as a cover for their defensive section as Momadou Sakho has been injured & would be out for the opening games in the English premier league.

Liverpool coach, Klopp would be pretty busy covering his spots as Toure was released & Skrtel was sold. Liverpool's other signings are Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius, Schalke centre-back Joel Matip and Southampton forward Sadio Mane this summer.

Ragnar Klavan is an experienced Centre-back, capped 108 international matches for Estonia. He started off his career at the age of 15. His best times were his time in AZ as he formed a great part of their defensive system as they maintained a 28 match unbeaten run.

Klavan moved on to the Bundesliga in 2012 with Augsburg where he has been an integral part for around 4 years. He even played against Liverpool in Europa league where he helped his team keep a clean sheet at home but eventually lost at Anfield 1-0 through a James Milner Penalty.

His international career is also very good one. Played almost 108 games & is captaining his national side since2012. This 6ft defender would play a vital role in this Liverpool side as they are short in centre back options.

Sakho & Gomez injured & Illori will have Olympic duties to fulfill ahead of him, so Ragnar will pretty much play a good part in the team. One of the interesting facts is that he missed out on a move to premier league long back as he failed during a trial in Sunderland as a teenager. Let's hope he proves his point this time around!
