Jurgen Klopp Targets Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne With Liverpool's Summer Spending Set to Continue

Jurgen Klopp is set to continue his summer spending in his first off-season in charge of Liverpool after earmarking Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne "?as the club's next transfer target.

"?Reported by Calcio Mercato, the Liverpool boss is readying a number of club representatives to send to Naples in an attempt to convince the tricky Italian to complete the switch to Merseyside.

Despite already adding the attacking threat of Sadio Mane and Giorginio Wijnaldum to his side, Klopp has been lured by Insigne's impressive form during the 2015/16 season.

The diminutive foward was involved in a total of 22 goals in last season's Serie A, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions and laying on a further 10 strikes.

Insigne is a player who appears suited to the high intensity 'geggenpressing' style of play that Klopp is looking to impress upon his squad as they go in search of a return to European football.

The Italian has been likened to Liverpool's current play-maker Philippe Coutinho due to his eye for goal and passing ability.

The arrival of the Napoli man would certainly enhance competition for places at Liverpool. Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino as well as the two summer recruits all occupy a similar position to Insigne.

Regardless of Klopp's interest there is yet to be any contact between the two sides, despite suggestions that the attacker is keen to move on from his time in Naples.

Should Insigne switch Napoli for the Reds he would be the seventh new addition to the club following Joel Matip, Alexander Manniger, Ragnar Klavan, Lorius Karius as well as Mane and Wijnaldum through the door.
