Gonzalo Higuain's Agent Claims Napoli Are Happy With Star's Departure

Gonzalo Higuain and his agent both received a lot of backlash after their Juventus switch, but despite all of the criticism, his brother now claims Napoli are happy with the move, according to Four Four Two

Nicolas Higuain says Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is glad to have sold the Argentine forward. The 28-year-old has suffered a lack of praise from Napoli fans after joining Juventus for a sum of over €90m.

"Aurelio De Laurentiis said Gonzalo is a great actor," he said. "I think instead the president of Napoli is."

"I think the president of Napoli was very happy to have received €90m from Juventus."

The agent continued to defend Higuain, stating he has made the right move for his career: "For Gonzalo, Juve is a challenge, because there is now the chance to fight for the Scudetto and the Champions League, every person in this game defends their own interests."

Higuain won Serie A's golden boot last season after scoring a league record of 36 goals as Napoli finished runners-up to rivals and new club Juventus. It was only the second time this century a player had scored more than 30 goals in a Serie A season, following Luca Toni's tally of 31 for Fiorentina in 2005-06.

The fee for the France-born forward is the third most expensive in history and the biggest domestic deal of all time. Higuain, who finalised a move to Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013 for £34.5m, was also heavily linked to join Premier League runners-up Arsenal as they are still active in the market for a world class goalscorer.
