"?Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon has pleaded with new signing Dani Alves to help the club win its first Champions League since 1996.
Alves has won Europe's elite competition on three occasions at Barcelona, and Buffon believes the Brazilian's winning pedigree can help Juventus to win their third European Cup.
"I asked Dani Alves to help us, above all us older members of the team, to achieve the dream we are still chasing and help us push the bar a little higher," Buffon told Sky Italia and as quoted on "?Football Italia.
"He is rather accustomed to certain targets and victories, so I think in that sense his experience can really help us.
What I liked in these first few weeks is seeing how eager the new buys are to work hard. You can tell they have the mentality of top clubs and are, albeit prudent, confident enough in themselves to think big."
Juventus came close to winning the Champions League in 2015 against Alves' former side Barcelona but were defeat 3-1 thanks to goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Alvaro Morata, who re-signed for Real Madrid this summer, scored The Old Lady's equaliser to make it 1-1, and Buffon thinks the Spaniard's time at Juventus has turned him into a champion.
"it was a real pleasure seeing him grow up to become a champion over the last two years," Buffon said.
Paul Pogba also played a part in Juventus' Champions League final clash against Barcelona and Buffon, too, has heaped praised on the Frenchman after his departure to Manchester United.
"I think at the end of the day he's an extraordinary lad, an extraordinary champion and someone seeking an extraordinary career."
