Former AC Milan Coach Blasts Owner Silvio Berlusconi by Claiming He Wanted to Coach the Club Himself

"?Former AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has hit out at Silvio Berlusconi, claiming that the club's owner wanted to coach the team himself, and can't explain why he was sacked.

Despite guiding Milan to a sixth-placed finish and taking them to the Coppa Italia final, Mihajlovic was sacked last April and was replaced by Cristian Brocchi, who was in turn replaced by Vincenzo Montella.

Mihajlovic has no idea why he was sacked, and opening up to Gazzetta dello Sport (via "?Goal.com), he revealed that Berlusconi was not an easy character to work with.

"Not only was he the most successful president in the world for 30 years but he is also a Milan fan," said Mihajlovic.

"Problems arise when these two roles aren't enough and you want to do more - even being the coach. Let's just say he didn't hide his ideas, but it was always me who picked the team and the system.''

Mihajlovic continued. "I was sorry to read some of his negative statements after the sacking, they were so exaggerated that they couldn't be credible. I still thank him for the opportunity he gave me and wish him well for the future."

Now managing at Torino, Mihajlovic is still having some difficulties, but this time with one of his players: Nikola Maksimovic - a defender- has flown to his native Serbia in an attempt to force a move to Napoli. His coach, a Serbian himself, feels betrayed. also warning his countryman that he will pay for his actions.

"I don't know if I'm in the wrong or Maksimovic is or both of us are but I don't give a damn, he will pay for the consequences of his actions," he said.

"I told him that one more year with us would make Europe's major clubs want him. I made sure he was happy to stay, he looked me in the eye and told me he was and now he is disappearing and claiming he has been sold?"
