Everton Boss Ronald Koeman Insists Toffees Will Not Sell Romelu Lukaku Despite Chelsea Interest

Everton manager Ronald Koeman insists Romelu Lukaku is not for sale, despite interest from Lukaku's former club Chelsea.

The 23-year-old, who is valued by Everton at £75m, has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park since the beginning of the transfer window, with the player admitting "?he wants to play Champions League football next season.

Koeman, who took over as Everton manager from Roberto Martinez, is confident he can hold on to Lukaku ahead of the Premier League opener this weekend.

The Dutchman went on to admit that while Lukaku should stay on Merseyside, Everton fans can still expect a few more signings.

"?"I don't comment on rumours. We have discussions with the board and with Steve Walsh, and we want three or four more players," Koeman told "?Sky Sports.

"Romelu Lukaku is still an Everton player and we want to keep our best players.

"Lukaku is doubtful [on Saturday] because of the cut from the Espanyol game, [Seamus] Coleman also has a problem as well."

Koeman went on to dismiss speculation linking club-captain Phil Jagielka with a move away from Goodison Park, which has stemmed from the £11 signing of Ashley Williams, who arrived from Swansea earlier this week.

Congrats to my fellow no.5!! Koeman has pulled off a major signing, leader, experience, most consistent def in the league last 4/5yrs! #EFC

"We had to get a new defender and Ashley brings experience, leadership and he knows the Premier League," Koeman added.

"Phil Jagielka is the captain of the team. We don't have too many centre-backs. We need four so there is no way he can leave the club.

"Last week all the business between Swansea and Everton he [Williams] did not really take part in training sessions with the team and I hope he can be ready after 10 days of training for next weekend."
