"?David Alaba will not be allowed to leave Bayern Munich this summer after the club rejected a €65m bid from Spanish side Real Madrid.

"?Reports from AS have stated that Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge informed the Austrian international of the club's decision on Friday.

The Bernabeu outfit tabled the bid earlier this month after having an initial bid of €50m knocked back, however did not hear back from the German champions until earlier this week.

The versatile defender is not looking to force his way out of the Allianz Arena, but it is believed that the club would consider a bid of around €80m.

Having renewed his contract last March in a deal that tied him to the Bundesliga side until 2021, Alaba appears settled in Bavaria and is said to have developed a good relationship with new boss Claudio Ancelotti after he succeeded Pep Guardiola.

Last season the full back featured on 53 occasions for Munich and managed to find the back of the net six times as Bayern completed a domestic double.

Alaba's attacking instinct is one that will attract Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as his side look to wrestle the La Liga title back from Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane believes that there is still a possibility for the 24-year-old to complete a switch across the continent.

"Until 31st August, it can happen," he said.

Having missed out on previous transfer targets in the form of Andre Gomes to rivals Barcelona, N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, the Spanish giants will be keen to secure a marquee signing before the transfer window slams shut.
