Benteke is said to be travelling to London to have a medical ahead of the deal.

Palace have had a long-standing interest in the forward, and saw prior bids rejected by the Reds. Alan Pardew was desperate to sign a striker in the window, and was tipped to land Michy Batshuayi before Chelsea swooped in for the former Marseille man.

It appears that the Palace boss has finally gotten his man, and a very good one too.

Benteke signed for Liverpool from Aston Villa last summer, following a prolific stint at Villa Park. He was expected to be the one to spearhead the Reds attack, or at least form a partnership with Daniel Sturridge, but the hiring of Jurgen Klopp after Brendan Rodgers' departure saw him relegated to the bench.

He did manage to score nine Premier League goals in 14 starts for the club, but that hasn't convinced Klopp of his ability.

Meanwhile, Palace are still thought to be chasing Chelsea and France forward Loic Remy. Antonio Conte is still looking to sign a striker before the window closes, and some reports are still claiming that the Blues will go hard for Everton's Romelu Lukaku in the coming days.

Chelsea are also linked with Brazil sensation Gabriel Barbosa, and Remy's departure would free up space to sign anyone they can.
