Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that his side will have to 'fight' to contend with the Premier League's top-spending clubs.
Earlier this week the Clarets made Belgium international Steven Defour their record-signing, bringing him in from Anderlecht in a £7.5m deal, which surpasses the £6m Burnley paid for striker Andre Gray last season.
But Dyche is well aware that a record signing for Burnley, is nominal for some of the league's top clubs, and it is up to his side to respond.
"?"In Premier League world, the numbers that get bandied around for us seem really small." he said, as quoted in the "?Daily Star.
"But they are actually big for a club like Burnley. The rest of the Premier League are probably going "?why aren't they are just getting on with those deals'.
"For us it's a big thing to spend millions of pounds.
"That's the vast difference in the market. Liverpool, for example, their cheapest player will be more expensive than our record signing.
"I'm looking forward to every game"

"As it said in one of the big reports Deloitte Touche put out, generally speaking clubs end up about where their finance guides them to.
"That's often why finance is spoken about a lot. We are at the bottom of the pack so we have to fight beyond that and come out with something that will work."?
Defour, who is capped 46 times by Belgium, is in line to make his debut against Liverpool on Saturday and the Burnley boss is confident he can use his experience to hit the ground running.
"He's got a depth of experience. He's not coming in thinking we will be rolling around the top three all season." he added.
"He know it will be a challenge and he wants to be part of that."?
